  • We acquired a new subsidiary and Sterling Grace was instrumental in assisting with moving all of their technology to a new location on short notice.
  • Multiple complications including a major hard-drive failure occurred with the server during the move, but SGT put in long hours and the majority of the issues were resolved over the weekend with staff being unaffected.
  • The new site had an unusual setup due to their location (behind two routers, no direct connection to the internet making port-forwarding and static IP unfeasible), making the subsidiary's VPN for remote access unusable. SGT provided an alternative solution and migrated the users to the new platform quickly and inexpensively
  • SGT also installed a mobile signal amplification system, bringing cell service inside the building from H+ (extremely slow and unreliable, staff had to go outside or stand by windows to not drop calls) up to LTE 4+ bars throughout the 5000 square foot office
  • SGT assisted with troubleshooting a major networking outage at our Brockville office and helped rule out all of our internal hardware and trace the issue to a specific routing problem with the local ISP

  • Started as a software engineering engagement
  • Helped them build integration between multiple internal systems and their Mediawiki software. They were then able to build multiple useful management and operator dashboards in their Wiki. Integrations included:
    • Lab Information Management System
    • SAP Enterprise Resource Planning Software
    • Wonderware/historian monitoring software for various devices throughout plant
  • Added new functionality to their Wiki through custom software extensions, enabling new graphical visualizations
  • Built a custom integration platform to allow them to create screen scrapers for legacy web-based software that they rely upon but which has no Application Programming Interface (API), making standard software integration techniques difficult
  • Provided expertise and assistance for large IT support projects, including:
    • Deployment of large quantities of new laptops to plant staff

  • Started with the replacement of an aging server. Presented them with multiple options and helped them find a refurbished server that fit their budget, with expansion potential. Over the years has helped them periodically upgrade their server with a new processor, extra memory and storage.
  • Original plan was up to 6 hours per month, but as they grew they converted into a Deluxe plan where they would pay one predictable fee and not worry about being billed for every call. This also covered they antivirus and made it possible to remotely support them.
  • Over the years SGT became more integrated into their operations, helping support them and manage multiple systems including legacy customer relationship management (CRM) and scheduling software, Quickbooks desktop version, WooCommerce online shopping cart, another web based CRM for a different business division.
  • SGT leveraged development and integration expertise to build a new eCommerce website, as well as enable multiple pieces of software to communicate with each other. The collaboration resulted in the automation of tasks such as:
    • eCommerce cart receipt import into quickbooks
    • Automatically importing Requests for Quotes from website into their CRM software
    • Building sales and onboarding documents
    • Reporting used to reconcile eCommerce orders against CRM subscription records
  • SGT helps Yates evaluate new software, has built custom software to help streamline existing processes, and acts as a liason with their vendors
